Garden Assistant

Goodwin William Staffing in Culpeper is seeking a Gardening Assistant for a temporary to hire, full-time assignment with a nature research center in Culpeper County.  Ideal candidates will have some experience working as a gardener or landscaper. This position works outdoors year-round. The required shifts will be Monday-Friday, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. or from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. 

Gardening Assistants are responsible for following the weekly maintenance schedule for the research garden.  Candidates must be self-motivated, mature, responsible, and able to work with limited supervision.  Qualified applicants are encouraged to apply for immediate consideration!

• Salary range: $12.00 - $14.00 per hour (D.O.E.)

• Gardening or landscaping related work experience
• A love of working outdoors and the ability to work in hot or cold weather conditions
• A profound respect for nature, wildlife, and science is essential to success 
• The ability to follow written and oral direction; and a willingness to be trained
• Must be in good physical condition to perform active job duties
• Common sense and the ability to work well independently or with a small team
• Must be comfortable working at a small woman owned business
• A valid driver’s license
• The ability to pass a drug test and a background check
