Job Description:
- Operates sewing machine to produce component parts for shelters from various types of vinyl fabric
- Ability to comprehend written instructions and follow markers and drawings, insuring production speeds consistent with customer needs and quality objectives
- Be alert for material and machine problems and take action required to resolve them
- Keep work area and machine clean at all times and see that all work is done in a safe manner
- Prepare reports as may be required
- Demonstrate willingness to perform any other duties as may be deemed necessary from time to time
- Quality check material for damage and ensure quality acceptable
Requirements:
- Knowledge of how to operator a standard sewing machine required; on-the-job training provided for industrial sewing machines
- Must be able to record quantity of materials sewn
- Sewing materials into component parts, as described via written or verbal instructions
- Understanding basic machine task, such as threading a machine, changing needles, etc..
- Able to lift 30 pounds.
- 6 months of consecutive related work experience preferred
- Must be able to work overtime as needed
- Great team player
- Reliable transportation required; no bus route
Pay Rates & Schedules:
- Friday - Sunday: 7am-7pm; $13.50 per hour
- Monday - Thursday: 5pm-3:30am; $12.50 per hour
