JOB OVERVIEW
Goodwin William Staffing is seeking a dedicated and experienced Assistant Golf Superintendent for a direct hire with our client in Central Virginia. The ideal candidate will be responsible for performing spraying duties, irrigation repair, minor mechanical functions, and general care of turf areas and buildings. Additionally, this person will be responsible for the day-to-day maintenance operation of the golf course in the absence of the Golf Course Superintendent.
MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
High school graduate with five or more years of progressively responsible related experience; or any equivalent combination of education, experience and training that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities. Pesticide applicators license required.
WORK PERFORMED / AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITIES
- Knowledge of the practices and procedures involved in the pest control operation.
- Knowledge of pesticides, herbicides and insecticides and their application.
- Knowledge of the operation and repair of spray equipment.
- Ability to recognize various vegetation problems and correct these problems.
- Ability to properly mix and use poisonous chemicals in a safe manner.
- Knowledge of mowers.
- Knowledge of small equipment associated with golf operations.
- Knowledge of hazards and safety precautions of work.

WORKING HOURS
Hours may vary, but will generally be 6:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.
This is an exempt position. Job requires weekend and holiday work during the golf season. Position is on-call seven days a week, 24 hours a day in the absence of the Golf Course Superintendent.
