Goodwin William Staffing is seeking an experienced Catering Chef to join our team to work with one of our clients in Charlottesville, VA. The Catering Chef will be responsible for cooking and preparing food according to recipes and production guidelines while adhering to food safety, food handling, and sanitation procedures. They will safely handle knives as well as equipment such as grills, fryers, ovens, broilers, etc...
Primary Job Duties & Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook a variety of food according to guidelines and standardized recipes
- Set up workstation with all needed ingredients and equipment
- Prepare ingredients by measuring, weighing, mixing, chopping, trimming, and peeling food items
- Safely utilizes a variety of utensils including knives
- Operate equipment such as ovens, stoves, slicers, mixers, etc.
- Bake, roast, broil, steam, and use a variety of cooking methods on meat, vegetables, and other foods
- Arrange, garnish, and portion food according to established guidelines
- Properly store food by adhering to food safety policies and procedures
- Clean and sanitize work areas, equipment, and utensils
- Maintain excellent customer service and positive attitude towards guest, customers, clients, co-workers, etc...
- Adhere to safety policies and procedures including proper food safety and sanitation
- Ensure security of company assets
- Other duties and tasks as assigned
Hours will vary.
Rate of pay is $18 - $20 per hour based on experience.
