Goodwin William Staffing is looking for a safety-focused CDL- A, Truck "Lowboy" Driver to join our team and work with our client in Charlottesville, VA. This full-time, hourly position is season, typically March through December. The hours are 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Monday through Friday or, as the project dictates. The project(s) may require overtime and weekend work.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
Promote Safety. Take an active role in prioritizing safety throughout the operation for yourself and others at all times in accordance with company standards. Wear appropriate PPE.
Operate equipment and Low Boy Truck/Trailer in accordance with all federal and state regulations.
Drive truck to job site and deliver material and clean truck to minimize buildup.
Inspect and maintain equipment. Perform thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections and accurately complete daily mobile equipment reports.
Clean the outside of the vehicle to ensure the absence of build-up at the end of each shift.
Document and record Information. Complete all forms, service reports, tickets, and required paperwork to ensure organization of documents and needed paperwork.
Coordinate and work closely with dispatch, maintenance, and plant management to facilitate the flow of information required to provide good customer service.
Haul asphalt and stone base to paving and grading crews
Some night work and weekend work required in the summer

$24 per hour
SCHEDULE
SKILLS YOU'LL NEED
Must possess a commercial driver’s license and CDL - A.
Knowledge of Best Practices. Knowledge of general principles and practices of operating and servicing Lowboy Truck/Trailer is preferred. Experience with Virginia Department of Transportation rules and regulations is preferred.
Clean driving record.
Must be able to drive a manual transmission.
Must have a clean and safe driving record and the ability to safely operate and control equipment while on the job.
Must be flexible and willing to work overtime, occasional nights and extended hours depending on the customer and company demands.
Must be able to work outside in all types of weather conditions and tolerate being exposed to loud noises.
Safely operate a company vehicle.
Perform additional assignments per supervisor's direction.
