General Laborer (Primary Duty; Traffic Control Flagger)

Goodwin William Staffing is looking for Construction Laborers whose primary duty will be Traffic Control Flagging to join our team/work with one of our clients in Richmond, VA. for day, night, and overnight shifts. MUST HAVE a current Certified Flagger Card or pass the Flagger test to be certified. ‍

‍Requirements

• Using hand signals and direction signs to direct traffic around road construction sites
• Communicating with other flaggers using hand-held radios to direct two-way traffic onto a single lane
• Informing the construction crew of any traffic issues that may affect their safety
• Appropriately positioning warning and detour signs around construction sites
• Setting up barricades and traffic cones along construction sites to cordon off certain areas
• Removing all signs, barricades, and traffic cones upon completion of construction work
• Assisting the construction crew in the removal of rubble, debris, and hazardous materials
• Recording the license plate numbers of motorists who neglect to obey traffic signs and directions
• General laborers must have physical strength, hand-eye coordination, and endurance
• General laborers must also be able to concentrate on their tasks
• General laborers must ability to understand and communicate information
• General Construction laborers must be able to work in a team environment
• One-year experience in a particular field preferred
• Must have valid driver’s license and/or reliable transportation
• Required PPE: hard hat, safety vest, safety glasses, steel toe boots, and work gloves
• MUST HAVE a current Certified Flagger Card or pass the Flagger test to be certified.
