Job Description:

Goodwin William Staffing is seeking experienced candidates for an Information Technology Specialist (direct hire position) with our client in Fairfield, VA. The Information Technology Specialist will be responsible for working with management to oversee and administer multiple information systems solutions for the business. Pay is $40,000 - $50,000 per year.

Responsibilities of this hands-on position will include:

  • Sourcing, purchasing, and maintaining computer-related equipment
  • Planning equipment and software solutions to enable business workflow
  • Developing, scheduling, and presenting training materials
  • Developing and ensuring adherence to cybersecurity policies and procedures
  • Work with staff across departments to forecast the needs of the business
  • Provide computer support for all office locations via telephone, email, and face-to-face contact
  • Manage and maintain an inventory of information systems equipment and software license assignments
  • Manage company backup policies
  • Work with vendor service providers to ensure best practices and solutions
  • Review help tickets for content, proper routing, first-call resolution, problem detection, and timely closure
  • Develop staff training on information systems, computer software, and security
  • Analyze market trends and apply this knowledge to make insightful recommendations for business workflows and digital solutions.
  • Report and communicate recommendations, trends, updates, and urgent issues to management.
  • Ensure all information systems-related operational processes and procedures are accurate, clearly documented, and maintained
  • Administer and adhere to cybersecurity policies and procedures
  • Administer and improve ISO policies and procedures
  • Provide afterhours support as needed
  • Maintain all company user accounts, software licensing accounts and other related assets
  • Some travel may be required to each of the company's facilities

Requirements:

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have a demonstrated track record of success in progressive information technology roles, including knowledge of:

  • Technical management and understanding
  • Analyzing information and problem-solving skills
  • Data and information management
  • Strategic IT planning
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficient in accounting software (ERP) and Microsoft Office Suite or related software
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

Educational and Experience Requirements

  • Associate degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a relevant field; Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • In lieu of degree, 3-5 years of experience providing IT Helpdesk support and 1-3 years support experience at a management level
  • Minimum of two (2) years’ experience
  • Competent with Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Office 365 Suite
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong problem-solving and customer service skills
  • Confident negotiation, presentation, and interpersonal skills
