Material Handler - Pick Module

Goodwin William Staffing is looking for Material Handlers to join our team and work with one of our clients in Gordonsville, Va. The position is full-time, Monday - Friday, with opportunities for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd shifts.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities Include the following:

Pick to Voice System - Trained to use Vocollect Unit, Headset, and Scanner

Picks orders using the Pick to Voice System

• Employee will learn the Voice System, commands, settings, etc...
• Load task packages and with time, set system speed to the fastest level in order to confirm their pick quickly.
• Induct parcels with use of the System.
• Pick order, place in carton, push carton onto conveyor.
• Verify correct stock when prompted by System.
• Plus General Duties (see below)

General Duties

• Select proper size carton; insert invoice.
• Positions and affixes labels to carton.
• Inspect product before placing in carton.
• Ensure correct product placement in carton.
• Record adjustments for short shipments on the carton.
• Assist in resolving discrepancies.
• Make adjustments for damaged product, stock transfers, and return product to inventory; retrieve order status information, and look up parcels.
• Conform to all company policies and procedures (Employee Handbook).
• Comply with all established environmental, health and safety requirements.
• Plus Secondary Duties (see below)

Secondary Duties

• Perform cycle counts as directed.
• Mark locations for designated short pickers.
• Keep zones stocked with varying sized cartons.
• Affix proper information to cartons.
• Maintain a clean, neat, and orderly work area.
• Short Picker; uses appropriate equipment to retrieve product, makes inventory transfers, and assists in putting away extra stock.

Education / Experience: High School diploma or GED

Language Skills: Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, safety rules, and memos. Ability to write legibly and effectively communicate one-on-one.

Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract, mulitply, and divide using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

Other Skills and Abilities: Basic computer and keyboarding skills and the ability to learn the system.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; bend; and use hands and arms to feel, grasp, reach, and lift. The employee is occasionally required to climb stairs, sit, stoop, kneel, and crouch.

This position requires the employee to walk 5 - 11 miles throughout the shift. The employee must have the ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

While performing this job, there is regular exposure to temperature changes; dust; and working around moving mechanical parts. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

Hourly Rate: $13.50 per hour

Available Shifts: Monday - Friday; varying shifts (1st, 2nd, and 3rd shifts)
